What’s the deal with online coaching?
Does online health and nutrition coaching live up to the hype? Here I explain the process and benefits of online coaching, and what you get for your hard-earned cash.
Quite possibly one of the only positives to come out the pandemic was the boom in online coaching options, across all sectors of health, nutrition, fitness, plus in other areas such as therapy, careers coaching and even parenting skills.
As a result, coaching is way more accessible for clients. Online coaching allows greater flexibility, overcomes barriers such as time and distance, and is often a more cost-effective option. As a coach, offering online options allows me to support more women, more effectively.
We know that ongoing support and accountability is essential in supporting clients with behaviour change. Afterall, it’s not what you do during the 90-minute Nutrition consultation, or 1 hour PT session, that creates change, it’s the small actions and habits that you do consistently, each day that make a difference. Having someone in your corner during this process can be the difference between success and failure.
Intrigued? Here’s how the process works:
- First, I’ll get to know you and your individual needs. We do this through a combination of questionnaires and chats over zoom. I’m keen to hear about all the things that have got you to where you are today, what you’d like to achieve, what you’ve tried before and what you love in life.
- Next, I’ll share your personalised recommendations for nutrition, physical activity, body image and emotional eating, as appropriate. This is all shared and managed through an app, which makes it easier for you to follow, track your progress and reach out for support.
- We’ll review your progress on a weekly basis, via a check-in form. This is where I will make any tweaks to your programme or set you additional “homework” or activities.
- We also review your goals over zoom each month and address and other issues that you are facing. Life is constantly changing and my job is to ensure your programme reflects this and is achievable.
- I want you to feel you have someone in your corner, like I’ve got your back. That’s why I’m also available on WhatsApp to support you whenever you need it
Ensuring that my clients are fully supported is one of my biggest priorities. As such, I limit the number of women that I work with, on a one-to-one basis, at any one time. This means that you can be certain you have my full attention, and I am 100 percent committed to helping you embrace your midlife.
